Haisla-Henaksiala is a member of the North Wakashan language branch and is the northernmost Wakashan language.

Name

Names for Hasila-Henaksiala include Hasila, X̄a'’islak̓ala and X̌àh̓isl̩ak̓ala. In the past the language has been incorrectly referred to as Northern Kwakiutl.

Geographical distribution

Hasila-Henaksiala is spoken at Kitamaat Village, about 10 kilometers from the town of Kitimat in British Columbia.
